Enjoy the ride. It is a one way ticket!

Have you realized that the only time in our lives that we enjoy getting old is our childhood? If you are under 10 years of age, you are so excited getting old that you partially think…

“How old are you?”, “I’m four and a half!” You are never thirty six and a half. You are four and a half going to five! That’s the key!

You go into puberty and now no one can stop you. You jump to the next number, or even a few numbers ahead.

“How old are you?”, “I’ll be 16!” Maybe you are 13, but come on, you’ll be 16! And then comes the best day of your life! You become 21! Even the words sound like ritual! You BECOME 21… YESSSS!!!

And then you turn 30. Oh… what happened here? You sound like rotten milk! He has TURNED, we should have tossed him. It’s not fun anymore; What is wrong? What changed?

You become 21, you turn 30 and then you‘re going 40. Wow! Slow down, everything slips. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and all your dreams are gone….

But! Wait!! You MADE 60. Never thought you’d manage it.

So, you BECOME 21, TURN 30, GOING ON 40, REACHING 50 and MAKING IT TO 60.

You’ve developed such a speed that you HIT 70! After this, it’s day by day. You HIT Wednesday!

Turning 80 and every day is just a full circle. HIT lunch. PASS 4:30...REACHING bedtime. And it doesn’t end there. In your 90’s you start to step back. “I was JUST 92”.

And then something odd happens. If you manage to overpass 90, you become a kid. “I’m 92 and a half!”

I wish you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

How to stay young

1.   Get rid of silly numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let doctors care about it. That is why you’re paying them after all.

2.   Keep only pleasant friends. Grumpy ones, bring you down.

3. Keep learning all the time! Learn more about computers, art, gardening, anything, even about the radio. Never let your brain inactive. “An inactive mind is the devil’s work craft”. And the devil’s last name is Alzheimer’s.

4. Enjoy simple things that bring you peace.

5. Laugh all the time and loudly. Laugh until you run out of breath.

6. Tears happen… endure, grieve and move on. The only person that stays with us for our entire life is ourselves. BE ALIVE while living.

7. Surround yourself with things you love, whether it is family, pets, music, plants, and interests, whatever. Your home is your shelter.

8. Honor your health. If it is good, keep it this way. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond improvement, ask for help.

9. Do not walk in guilt. Take a walk in the stores, even go to the next county or in a different country but NEVER go where guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them in every chance.

11. From the simplest daily action to the most complex ones, think before acting… react to the impulse that motivates you, by being the Best of Yourself. Become what you admire, not what you despise! Be the Best of Yourself!

Always Remember:

Life is not counted by the number of breaths we take, but from the breathtaking moments we experience. It’s counted by the times we feel GREAT with our best friend… OURSELVES!
